The Lutheran Refugee Service (LRS) correspondence files (1953- 1959) contain correspondence, memoranda, and reports regarding LRS activities, cooperation with and participation in international and national organizations, agencies, and conferences for resettlement efforts, cooperation with Lutheran relief agencies, immigration policies and issues, cooperation and coordination with the Lutheran World Federation's (LWF) Department of World Service, and LRS finances. Correspondents include LRS officials; international, national, and Lutheran agency, organization, and conference officials; government officials; participating. Church body members; and LWF officials and representatives. Donald E. Anderson served as LRS director.
